Community Grants
Stroudfunding project
In April 2024, Stroud District Council (SDC) partnered with the crowdfunding platform Spacehive to launch Stroud Funding.
Historically, SDC has distributed grants either directly or through collaborations with other organizations and government initiatives. Stroud Funding returns creativity and decision-making to the community, empowering residents and groups to drive change. This is a crowdfunding initiative, not a match funding program. Round One was launched in Autumn 2024, and crowdfunding for round one projects ends in March 2025.
Round Two launches in February, with the project page and verification deadline on May 7th.
Through this crowdfunding programme, Stroud District Council (SDC) has a total fund to £135,000 for 2025/26, to be pledged across both the Spring and the Autumn funding rounds.
Eligible projects could receive a pledge from SDC of up to £10,000 (up to a maximum of 50% of the project’s target).
Stroud funding Criteria:
- Your project must align to the council priorities which are:
- a. Environment and Climate Change
- b. Community Resilience and Wellbeing
- c. Economy, Resilience and Regeneration
- It must benefit the people within the Stroud district
- Your project must be time bound with a clear delivery date (projects must have a contingency plan in case the project does not meet its delivery date)
Projects meeting the fund criteria must then show evidence of receiving enough support from the community when crowdfunding. Community support is assessed based on the project page and the number of pledges (donations) received, such as from individuals, community groups, businesses.
