Gloucestershire County Council Elections and Stroud Central District Ward By-Election - Thursday 1 May 2025

On Thursday 1 May 2025 elections will be held for all 11 County Divisions for Stroud for the Gloucestershire County Council Elections and a District Ward By-Election for Stroud Central.

The County Divisions are as follows:
Bisley & Painswick
Cam Valley
Dursley
Hardwicke & Severn
Haresfield & Upton St Leonards (new)
Minchinhampton
Nailsworth
Rodborough
Stonehouse
Stroud Central
Wotton-under-Edge

Following the review of the County Boundaries by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, the division 'Haresfield & Upton St Leonards' was created in 2024 following public consultation. The elections on Thursday 1 May 2025 will be undertaken on these new boundaries.

For the purposes of electors proposing or seconding a nomination paper, candidates must ensure electors from the correct polling districts are used to subscribe the nomination paper for the county division in which they are intending to stand in. The breakdown can be found here.

For electors proposing or seconding a nomination paper for the Stroud Central District Ward, candidates must ensure the polling districts of STCA, STCB and STCC are used.

Registration and absent voting deadlines

The deadline to register to vote is midnight, Friday 11 April 2025.

The postal vote deadline is 5pm, Monday 14 April 2025
