Vote now for these local businesses to win a lifestyle award
Dozens of businesses in the Stroud district have been shortlisted in the SoGlos Lifestyle Awards 2024, including Stroud District Council’s Museum in the Park.
Stroud district businesses are included in 14 categories including Cultural Venue of the Year, Food and Drink Producer of the Year, Event of the Year, and Independent Retailer of the Year.
The Museum in the Park, Stroud is shortlisted for Cultural Venue of the Year. Managed by Stroud District Council in collaboration with the Stroud District (Cowle) Museum Trust, the free-of-charge museum tells the extraordinary and diverse history of Stroud district and has over 4,000 objects and artefacts on display – from dinosaur bones to one of the world’s first lawnmowers.
Kevin Ward, Museum in the Park Manager said:
“I’m delighted that the Museum in the Park has been shortlisted along with some other wonderful venues. A vote for the museum is a vote for my team of staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to deliver a local museum service the wider community can be proud of.”
“The Stroud district is a melting pot of creativity and enterprise so it’s no surprise that so many of our businesses have been recognised in the SoGlos Lifestyle Awards shortlist,” added a Stroud District Council spokesperson.
“We’re hoping everyone in the district will show their support by voting for their favourite local businesses which will give a boost to both the businesses themselves and the wider district. Let’s get as many local businesses as we can in the final.”
One of the priorities in SDC’s Council Plan is Economy, Resilience and Regeneration, and the council has pledged to support local high streets to increase footfall and achieve a sustainable visitor economy through delivering and enabling promotional campaigns.
Voting is now open until Friday 29 March. The finalists in each category will be announced on 22 April, and the winners announced at an awards night on 16 May.
