Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018
In October 2018 the Government published the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 under section 13 of the Animal Welfare Act 2006. The effect of the regulations is to put in place a licensing regime to control the following licensable activities;
• Selling animals as pets
• Providing or arranging for the provision of boarding for cats or dogs
• Hiring out horses
• Breeding dogs
• Keeping or training animals for exhibition
How to Apply
To apply you will need to send us the following;
- Application Form (Word)
- Premises Plan
- Relevant Fee (you can pay the fee by calling 01453 754440)
- Arrangers Host Details Form (only to be completed by arrangers, in addition to the application form above)

Variation to an existing Licence
To vary an existing licence you will need to send us the following;
- Variation Application Form
- Premises Plan (If changed)
